May-ppenings!

I've realised that my entries are becoming fewer and fewer....now I only blogged once a month. Yes, now I understand how things really change when one move through the different phases of life. I'm getting kinda tired from the working life.... In life, there are ALWAYS....yes, I do mean ALWAYS things and people for you to be concerned about, for you to rack your brains, to throw your temper at, to witness the different moments of your life.....

I still remember....

When I was young, what was I worried about? Not having enough food? Not being about to get my parents to understand what I want? I was scared that I will get beaten by my parents, scared of the little little sounds that I hear at night ...Not having enough toys/colouring books to play/doodle with...Not being able to go out and play with friends/cousins.

When I was slightly older, I was worried about results. Image & reputation became a factor to everyone of the same age. Brand awareness increases as the days passed. What is the next secondary/JC/university to go, which subjects/courses to take became a common talking point for most of us. Everyone will be worried about their circle of friends...about how to interact with people...how to complete projects with classmates whom you are unfamiliar with...being a leader or a follower... then the next big headache will come to your mind. CAREER - where are you heading off to next? a civil servant? a banker? a teacher? an entrepreneur? who are you? what are you going to do?

And now, after you have landed yourself onto a job and you think that - yes, for once, money will not be an issue (provided you know how to manage your own finance), no worries to get a job, no competitive grades to worry, no more irritating tests/projects/exams to worry for. Life should be better. But how true is it? Does that means that your worries have decrease relatively? Think again. Are you pretty sure of the stability of your job? Minus the stress from exams/projects but add in the stress from your daily work assignments and the various mtgs you have to score points in. Is it really a decrease? Which of the two will actually have a greater impact on your life? How well are you able to manage your relationships with your colleagues and your subordinates or even your bosses? As if all these ain't enough to make your life worse, the relationship that your subordinates share. How impartial will you be? How can you make sure that you are able to maintain the pleasant working environment? How simple can things be when it's not just about doing your work? OK, seems like it's all about work right? Think again. Other than work, what else do you have to worry abt? Yes, it's still about the complex human relationships. Families, friends, bf/gf will also be an issue unless you can manage them well. Alot of things change once you know someone for a period of time or when you move on to another phase of your life. Will the relationship still stay as it was first constructed during the accquaintance of 2 persons in 10 years' time? I guess everyone has their own answers to this question. Some people might say 'aiyo, it's already been so long, just let bygones be bygones.' but there might be poeple who say 'no. say i stubborn say i inflexible, but it's my principle in life. forget doesnt mean forgive or vice versa.'

So, what's your worries at this phase of life??

Recalling back on the activities in the past 1 month.....
I think I can say that it is quite a fulfilling one.... met up with quite a number of people..the gals, clara, my few cousins and the usual meet ups. hahaha! I think for the usual meet ups, we have 'Mr Monopoly' to thank. Yes, the new monopoly deal cards had created quite a big commotion. I even played with my cousins lo. LOL! & that also resulted in us playing more old school board games. Yes the original Monopoly, HOTELS and the recent visit to Settlers' are evidences of the damage power of Deal. & I bet there are more to come. (right sx?) But yes, thanks to all these, life is less boring and more interesting. LOL.

May is also silly's birthday. last year was due to my exams this year was due to work. So ended up, celebrating in advance once more. Details shall not be mentioned. But I think he had quite a number of celebrations cum surprises this year. & he had great presents too! hope he enjoyed his bday this year.

Oh yes, not forgetting that fateful day....where I was about to head for RELC Hotel for a corporate retreat with my colleagues after lunch when I received a scary call from my mom. I cursed those evil scammers for causing the great inconvennience to me & my family. I was really angry that day when I found out that my bro's safe and my suspicions are right that I hope they'll go to hell and may their souls burn and disintegrate! such ploys to exploit the concern and love for family. & till last week, I'm still explaining to people what acutally happened, including my commander who called me early nxt day on my duty phone to check on me. Oh well.........

Then it's work again. My Appointment cum Appreciation lunch took place on 27 May at Dempsey Road. I'm glad my branch managed to pull this whole stunt off. It was a long day for me just before the long wkend. Imagine, I reached officer at 7.30am, after my event, I had to rush back to office for the mtg at 4pm. It was supposed to be "Eat with your family day" and while my officers knocked off at an earlier agreed time, e mtg lasted till 6plus and a SO/KO gathering was up next. & thanks to dear, who travelled all the way to Kallang to fetch me, making everything seems less tiring. Thanks!

The next few big events took place actually on 1st June. I first witnessed the change of command in the division and bade goodbye to my commander with a very throw face video with the other 3females HODs. The commander who roped me into this public svs.... One whom I respect and fear. Respect him for his directions on division's path, for his concern (especially after that fateful day), thankful to him for giving me the chance but yet fearful of him. Not that he's very scary but cos of his high expectations. I'm always very worried that I might not live up to his standards and his affirming emails/encouraging words will make me feel alot better. Of cos, there are still times whereby I received sarcastic remarks from him & I just choose to think of them in a positive manner. (I do hope I will be able to continue with this kind of feelings.)

After the change of command, we had to rush over to HTA for the Police Annual Dinner. It is the first time I am attending this kinda events. The hall was grand and the food was great but the content was a bit too dry. after all the eating, we were all kinda bored and had to stay through the whole thing cos our bosses have given the instructions to take a group photos as the division had won 3 awards in FY09. I had also come to know that this is in fact the first year civilian officers are able to attend the function. Why so special? It's cos of the number of awards won. LOL!

This is really a long entry. For those who managed to perservere through this lengthy post, thanks man! for the patience. & this is a long entry without any photos. Shall try to get some photos from the officers on the few work events to share here if I'm not too lazy to ask. haha!

Anyway, it's JUNE ALREADY! WOOHOO!!! Can't wait for the trip! Before my work becomes a big headache.....Time to start preparing for the trip! :P
