came across this online...tot it was kinda funny...
The perfect 21st birthday celebration : Buy a couple of nice VCD/DVD movies, grab a huge tub of popcorn & some drinks, drag your bf/gf along to your house, plonk down in front of that TV set & just watch the movies. Cuddling with your bf/gf during the movies highly recommended.
After that, bring your bf/gf down to a nice cosy pub or if you prefer, the beach & just enjoy the breeze & lay back. If your bf/gf is the sensitive & thoughtful sort, expect a small cake with a candle, bundled with a birthday song(off-key or otherwise). NO, a small cake with 1 SMALL candle doesn't make you any younger. And NO, a small cake with 1 HUGE candle isn't funny(thanks, Meili...) Singing the birthday song off-key can sound cute, but not when it's so loud & bad that everyone within a 2km radius is wearing earplugs.
When all of that is over, go pick up a box of tissue papers from the convenience store & head home. The MOST important event of your big day has now come.... Thou shalt wallow in self pity, feel old & feel like you haven't accomplished anything in your life yet. Ladies, tissues come in handy now...
Go to bed, wake up the next day feeling great, only to feel horrid again after 10 mins when you realise that you're now 21, with more of such birthdays to come through the years. By the time your 22nd birthday is approaching, you'll wish everyone around you will just buy you gifts & forget the cake, together with those darn candles.
Oh, if you still IRC, you're allowed to slap anyone who asks you for your age. Thou shalt not allow others to make you feel any worse that you already do during your birthday....
